What better way is there than to kick off the New Year by trying a new recipe? Well I can hear you saying, “I can think of a few ways…” But this recipe came in handy when I was stuck in a rut. Invited to a last minute New Year BBQ and was asked to bring something along. My first thought was a quick bread, but the recipe I had I mind was not meant to be, alas I had no sour cream. That’s when I started looking for other options and this one jumped out at me immediately. The receivers were delighted when they opened a box filled with these wonderfully delicious coffee cake muffins and even more so they seemed impressed by the line of cinnamon-sugar/nut mixture running through the middle of each one. These aren’t the sweetest things out there, for cake I mean. But they sure are delicious!
